Random Prospect Rankings

Just would like a little feedback on some prospects. Let me know how you would rank the following:

C: Angel Salome, MI: Dee Gordon, MI: Scott Sizemore, CI: Brian Dopirak, OF: Nick Weglarz, OF: Francisco Peguero, P: Casey Crosby, P: Brad Lincoln, P: Simon Castro, P: Chris Withrow, P: Adam Reifer, P: Nathan Eovaldi

Hmm...

Crosby, Withrow, Weglarz, Lincoln, Gordon, Castro, Sizemore, Peguero, Reifer, Eovaldi, Salome, Dopriak

Crosby and Withrow really kind of stand out here. I like Weglarz, takes walks and has power, even if it hasn’t shown up in his HR totals yet. Lincoln looks like a great bet to a #3 starter, which is valuable. Gordon has tons of upside, but I’m a conservative guy for the most part, I need results. Castro looks like a good young pitcher, not sure where I seeing him topping out though. Sizemore is solid. Peguero is the most interesting of the rest I think, although both pitchers could have value. Salome could move up if he sticks behind the plate, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Dopriak is kind of meh in my eyes.

I'll go top 7

Crosby, Withrow, Castro, Gordon, Lincoln, Sizemore, Weglarz.

I think Castro is a bit underhyped. Very exciting arm who could really take a leap in 2010.

seems like

withrow and crosby are a split decision about the #1 spot…who does everyone think has the higher ceiling? I think its crosby…

by miraclemets on Dec 6, 2009 7:30 PM EST reply actions

ceiling-wise

I’d probably go Withrow. I don’t think it’s a big difference, though, and as such, I’d take Crosby over Withrow, as I think Crosby’s floor is a bit higher.

I assume this is for fantasy?

And if so, is it traditional 5×5 scoring?

Assuming standard scoring, I would put my top 5 as:

1. Gordon
2. Withrow
3. Crosby
4. Sizemore
5. Salome

Gordon could be a HUGE asset in SBs in roto formats. I like Lincoln too, but he is more of a sleeper that could post some good but not great stats as a #4/5 starter for fantasy. Withrow/Crosby have high-end potential.

AVG, HR, RBI, SB, OPS, R … W, S, HD, ERA, WHIP, K

I’m surprised Withrows being ranked as high as he is…

Just out of curiosity, how would you guys grade them? (Sickels style)
