19 year old who can hit 96 on the gun with a plus breaking ball and had great stats this year…
he has a better fastball then gould and has experience in the minors unlike gould.. i bet gould was 11..
Josh Lindblom is very under-rated
except by gammons, but he’s closer to the truth then the majority are
Dee Gordon
Solid prospect, but no way is he the Dodgers best prospect. His bat is extrermely questionable in terms of can he ever OPS .725 at the major league level. Above average defense will help out even if the bat doesn’t come all the way around, but he is in no way, shape or form a better prospect than Chris Withrow is, or several others on this list.
Tools, tools, tools.
Not saying I necessarily agree, but scouts have raved about him this year, noting that he’s had success despite his rawness. I think he’s defensible at #1.
Los Angeles rarely exceeds the bonus recommendations from the commissioner’s office—its total of $8.5 million spent on bonuses in 2008-09 ranks last in MLB
mccourts have no money and are not interested in the draft at all… just like how they messed up a chance to get 4 draft picks for wolf and hudson… they are F’in up the future for the dodgers by not caring about the draft..
scott elber
Fastball in the 91 to 94 range hitting 95 as a starter…
Slider at 85 that is a strikeout pitch.. (showed it this year in the bigs..)
Yet BA last year said he has the Best Curve in the organization last year..

Best Curveball Scott Elbert
and Says he has the Best Changeup in the Organization this year…

Best Changeup Scott Elbert
So he basically has according to BA a Fastball from the Left side hitting 95 with a plus curve and changeup and a plus slider… and yet hes only the 6th best prospect..
i was surprised
i thought he would be higher. he is pretty much major league ready and had a very good year in the minors, striking out well over a batter an inning. he should be in their 2010 rotation.
Agreed
I like Elbert a good bit and think he deserves a shot to stay in the rotation. Unfortunately, I’m not really expecting him to get that opportunity. It seems like the Dodgers are set on using him as a late inning reliever (which is why I think he’s ranked 6th).
Elbert...
is one of those guys where the best version of each of his pitches is absolutely filthy, but he doesn’t repeat them enough to inspire confidence that he’ll put it all together. I see him as a lefthanded version of Gil Meche. Meche at his best has a mid-90s fastball, a knee-buckling curve, and a solid change. Only problem is 1 curve out of 4 fails to break. The result: an 83mph meatball over the heart of the plate just waiting for any major league hitter to smack it out of the park.
Elbert’s got the same problem. He walks a lot of guys, and his 4hr in 20 major league innings aren’t just bad luck. When those breaking balls flatten out or he telegraphs his fastball and leaves it up in the zone, batters make consistent hard contact against him. No matter how sweet it looks to see a breaking ball make a good hitter look absolutely foolish, the pitch has limited value if a guy can’t repeat it and command it. I’m not sure I’d have ranked him #6 given the other talent in this system, but as a Mariners fan I watched a similarly talented guy scuffle for years, so I understand the concern.
Chris Withrow comparisons...
who does he remind you of?? mid 90s fastball with great curve..
Josh beckett??
Lindblom over Elbert !!!!!
Lindblom over Elbert
now, who was that that called me out saying well see everyone thinks Elbert > Lindblom not Lindblom > than Elbert….
Deolis Guerra = Daniel Cabrera ?
I tend to think so
