Info on these players

I've looked for information on these guys, got a little from some of the posts on here but they aren't that high on the prospect list.  Was hoping anyone could give any information on these guys that isn't on here.  Opinions matter also...would like to see if these guys are worth having around and what the big league clubs plans are for them.

Dusty Ryan- saw he just got traded

Deolis Guerra- worth keeping or not

Max Ramirez - will he stick this year?

Yu Darvish - is he ever coming over, what's the latest

I own these guys in a sim league but I'm most curious about Guerra.  I've read that his velo was back up and that he's young for the levels he's been pitching at.  There seems to be opinions on him all over  the board.

I have a susicion the Guerra might eventually find a way to success

But he’s not nearly as valuable as his BA ranking before the trade.

Darvish won’t be coming over for quite some time in all likelihood, all indications are that he’ll be in Japan for the forseeable future. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him posted a bit before reaching FA, but there’s no reason to post him before then, and he hasn’t really expressed desire to move to MLB.

Dusty Ryan is not worth keeping around.

I don’t know exactly where Max Ramirez is going to play, though I have to imagine with a good spring Texas will give him a shot to be what they anticipated for Lowell.

Dusty Ryan

Was a Top Ten Tigers prospect a year ago. Good raw power, some decent OBA skills, great arm, not very good defensively otherwise. I think he’s a fine pickup, although its questionable whether he can stick at catcher, which would reduce his value. Not a bad risk to take at all for a team like the Padres though.

Darvish seems to really enjoy staying in Japan. I highly doubt he ever comes over.

Dusty Ryan cannot make good contact and had one fluke year in a horrible system. He’s far from anything to write home about.

I don't think he's a great prospect

But the Pads got him for basically nothing, it will cost them nothing to see what he can do, and who knows, maybe he turns into a Mike Napoli. For a guy that was pretty literally freely available, its a fine pickup.

Maybe he turns into one of the best hitting catchers in the game…?

Similar skill set

I’m not saying its likely, but there was a time that Napoli was available for anyone in baseball to have for basically nothing and everyone passed. Catchers tend to be late developers so it wouldn’t surprise me if Ryan took that raw power, became passable defensively, and became a nice .250/.330/.450 backstop for quite a few years.

Yu Darvish

I’m not sure why everyone still brings up his name. Japanese teams typically ride their horses, then sell those players to the US a year before free agency. Darvish will not be a FA for another 7 years. He’s simply not coming over for another 6 years. Just won’t happen.

Guerra

if he has any success at all most likely will be as a reliever or “closer in waiting” type. Why is Yu Darvish even a consderation for a fantasy league, even a deep one?
