Picks For Your Team

I recently did something like this but with different questions. So now Ill ask some different ones.

What rookie will have the Biggest MLB impact in 2010?

What prospect in the C/C+ ranking has the biggest star potential?

Minor league batter of the year for 2010?

Minor league pitcher of the year for 2010?

What prospect has the most to prove in 2010?

If anyone wants me to add a question to the last post it in the comments.

I’d say Snyder has the most to prove. Some people have him as a top 100 prospect. I’m sure many people doubt he’ll be a successful major leaguer. He doesn’t have a very long time to establish which is more likely.

by auclairkeithbc on Dec 22, 2009 4:46 PM EST up reply actions

I think we can stick a fork in him

Right now, I think the prospects with the most to prove are Pedro Florimon and Chroye Spoone. They have 40-man roster spots to justify, and if they can’t, they are probably finished as prospects in the O’s organization.

Well, I don’t think Castro will be up very early at all this season. I’d say Manzella or Gervacio will have the biggest MLB impact in 2010.

I agree with Steele, Mier, and Lyles.

I do think Castro has something to prove this season, but he has performed pretty well the last few years and I think we mostly know what he is. I guess if he takes a big leap forward in HR ability that will be interesting, but he doesn’t have much left to really prove.

Guys that have a lot to prove are Ross Seaton and Jonathan Gaston. I’ll go with Gaston, as his 2009 campaign is surrounded by the most doubt of maybe anyone in baseball.

Reds

What rookie will have the Biggest MLB impact in 2010? Tough one. Perhaps Matt Maloney who might be the #5 starter. Could be Chris Heisey if he winds up in LF.

What prospect in the C/C+ ranking has the biggest star potential? Can’t say yet, John hasn’t listed his grades for the Reds.

Minor league batter of the year for 2010? Yonder Alonso.

Minor league pitcher of the year for 2010? Daniel Tuttle.

What prospect has the most to prove in 2010? Juan Francisco. He must show he can make adjustments after pitchers get to see him a few times. Once he got to AAA last year it was painfully obvious that he would swing and miss a breaking ball under his hands every time.

consider park factors

Moose will be in the Texas League, Myers in the Midwest League. could easily see Moustakas slugging .500+ next year. hopefully a little plate awareness will come too.

Milwaukee Brewers

What rookie will have the Biggest MLB impact in 2010? 3B Mat Gamel. Casey McGehee will come to be known simply as “Abberation ’09.”
What prospect in the C/C+ ranking has the biggest star potential? RHP Jeremy Jeffress. I still think he has one of the best arms in the minors. A fan of Thoreau’s “Civil Disobedience” will always be given the benefit of the doubt.
Minor league batter of the year for 2010? 2B Brett Lawrie. Best middle infield bat in the minors.
Minor league pitcher of the year for 2010? RHP Cody Scarpetta (though it could also be Wily Peralta. Both of them should dominate the FSL at BC)

Gamel

He toes the line. I know he’s not a rookie in terms of days on a major league roster.

If not Gamel, then it has to be Alcides. He necessitated the JJ Hardy dump and is going to be playing everyday (which should lower the cumulative staff ERA by around a half run).
