Even forget the results
b/c the rankings of Brackman werent ever really about results – his velocity isnt there any more.
Its like they can't let go
They had him in the top 100 two years in a row – and it was laughable each year. Its like they want to justify those terrible decisions.
brackman
i’m thinking they must see something in him as a reliever. in his last 10 innings he’s struck out 9 and walked 0. granted, it’s a small sample but for a guy that was walking 1 out of every 4 or so batters it’s certainly something positive. after all, the minors are there to help players learn and gain experience. i wouldn’t be shocked to see him become a very good reliever.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

Romine at 2
Does surprise me a bit … that said, he is quite fascinating. I probably would’ve ranked McAllister ahead of Heathcott, but 1-9 looks alright overall.
Agreed on Romine
Goldstein has given some very bad reports on his defense recently and if he’s not a catcher, he’s not a #2 prospect.
Vizcaino>Romine
Romine has had well below-average plate discipline his entire career and now there are questions about whether he can stick at catcher. To me Vizcaino is easily the better prospect.
Cervelli is still a prospect?
How many AB’s he had last year?

well
5 of those guys on that list account to roughly 100 million dollars already.
heh
yeah, Brackman is really indefensble at this point. he doesn’t even have age on his side . It wasn’t a terrible gamble at the time but it seems pretty clear that the chances of it turning out well is highly unlikely at this point.
I don’t like how BA’s constantly very agressive on just signed / drafted guys . that really screws up the equation.
I don't get it...
It’s clear the yankee’s have the financial resources to outspend every org in baseball. Yet, they haven’t flexed those same financial muscles in the draft. This is a god awful system for a team in their position, and if I were a fan, I wouldn’t be happy. I know $$ solves problems via the FA market, but is it the philosophy or the personnel that are producing below average results?

Oh ya...
I love Vizcaino and think he should be #2 here. Romine may have the higher floor, but Vizcaino’s ceiling is through the roof.
