Anxiously anticipating the grades....

….for Atlanta. Really interested in Minor, Teheran, and Gilmore.

Gilmore isn't a Brave

He was included in the Javy Vazquez deal.

And then the Royals

right?

That's why they call them business sox

I wonder who will be the Braves top guy…

by yondaime4 on Oct 24, 2009 3:12 PM EDT reply actions

got to be Minor right?

The real question is Heyward an A or A+

I would

put Minor at about #5 on the Braves prospect list. Probably a handful of guys in their system already that are better prospects.

fwiw, this would be my Braves top 10: Heyward, Freeman, Teheran, Bethancourt, Minor, Stovall, Jones, David Hale, Brewer and then Oberholtzer.

no Kimbrel?

no Randall Delgado? Hoover? Spruill?

Which Jones do you mean? Mycal Jones? I don’t think he’s really top 10 material…I like Stovall’s arm but I think the walks keep him out of the top 10 for now.

Agreed

For me, it goes:

Heyward
Freeman
Teheran
Delgado
Bethancourt
Spruill
Hoover
Minor
Kimbrel
Rohrbough – Yeah, he had a very poor year and had confidence issues, but I still think he should sneak onto a top 10

Hale

It is nice to see him getting some respect. The three top 10 round college pitchers I had liked were Sean Black, Dallas Keuchel, and him. I also liked Johnson from LSU, but those were the three I really wanted. Fortunately my team got one, but Hale would have been nice.

Not too different

My top ten would be:
1. Heyward
2. Tehran
3. Freeman
4. Hoover
5. Milligan
6. R. Delgado
7.Minor
8. Betancourt
9. Spruill
10. Masters
then D. Delgado, C. Kimbrell, and C. Johnson, and M. Crim in some order…

Hoover

I am looking forward to seeing his grade. I think he is the most underrated prospect in the whole system.

by Braves1983 on Oct 24, 2009 7:04 PM EDT reply actions

probably me too

Deolis Guerra = Daniel Cabrera ?
I tend to think so

Go out on a limb, be different, set yourself apart

And make someone beside Jason Heyward the Braves #1 prospect.

by backtocali on Oct 24, 2009 10:24 PM EDT reply actions

what would Cody Johnson get?

And now a scene from seinfeld
ELAINE: [mind] Who does this guy think he is?
KEITH: [mind] I'm Keith Hernandez.

C

You may be able to argue for a +, but his contact is REALLY bad.

by Jeff Reese on Oct 25, 2009 11:02 AM EDT up reply actions

I'd probably go with a +

just because of the insane power, but his contact is horrible and even if he figures it out, his defense is beyond horrible.

C+ for Johnson

And that’s not a knock. The guy needs to turn a corner to get a better mark.

I'm hoping ...

that the wait means the Braves list is going to be EXTRA long this year.
