AFL - Weekend Edition
So Strasburg apparently looked pretty darn good on Friday night. I was expecting more k's, but he's apparently trying to induce contact and ground balls. Judging by the groudout/flyout ratio from his first start, he achieved what he set out to do. Some other notables include
Mike Stanton, 2-4 first AFL dinger but also 2k's
Scott Sizemore already 3 jacks
Grant Desme, 2nd HR, but more k's
Chris Heisey, dinger, double, sb
Brandon Laird, hasn't got much mention, probably because he is viewed as more a future bench guy, but it's hard to deny his stats so far
Did Heyward leave yesterday's game due to injury?
No games today, but post your thoughts on what you've seen (liked and disliked) so far.

not too bad of a start for the kid
he needs to work on that eye though but with the 3-4 and now the hr this time looks solid.
Not sure why they are placing himat the DH instead of starting in RF or CF considering defense is one of his best mechanics
peterson (another fish spec) has started hot too
.400/.400/.733/1.133

Mike Minor
Fastball up to 94, consistently around 92. Interesting, though he was still a bit hittable in this outing.

Wow, I wonder if the Braves revamped his mechanics.

Dude, check out the stats from last year...
Among just 6 teams, 10 guys batted .370 or higher and 16 guys OPSed at 1.000 or higher.
Tyler Flowers led the league with a 1.433 OPS.
Lulz.
Hardcore hitting environment.

mickey storey
There is some skepticism about this guy, but damn that stats are freakin ridiculous.
Basically a terrible and injured senior season messed up his draft stock and he fell past the 30th rd in 08, but before that he was a freshman all american in 2005 by BA and rated the #1 draft eligible player in preseason 08 in the sun belt conference by BA, so he was on someone’s radar back then.
He has great control and a plus out pitch w/ the curveball, which has dominated hitters all season
