Mets or Phillies?

I'm just about to enter a dynasty league and there are two teams available. Mets or Philles.

The only benefits you get from having the MLB team is you get their farm and you save 20% from the price of your bid, if you win a player from your team in the auction.

The Phillies were just rated ahead of the Mets in Keith Law's new farm system rankings, but the Mets definitely have more near major league-ready talent.

So what say you, Mets or Phillies?

Mets...

by a slight margin. They have guys who could have more of an impact, but the Phillies have more guys will have an impact. It depends on whether you are willing to take a risk or you want to go the safe route.

Mets

If only because they have better players in premium positions on the major league level (SS, 3b, CF). But I’d say it’s marginal at best, plus the new stadium could make things REALLY interesting.

Mets...

Do you get their farm system moving forward as well? I ask because Amayo seems content to throw away first-round draft picks to sign mediocre veterans, which doesn’t bode well for the long-term health of the Phillies’ farm system. The Mets are prone to losing picks too, but usually for better reasons than Raul Ibanez, and they spend more money internationally to compensate.

If it’s only the farm systems as of today, I still go Mets, but if you get the new acquisitions too, it’s not even close.

Mets

International prospects in their farms, plus quality discounts on some of the best players in baseball (Wright, Beltran, Reyes, Santana)
