Eric Hurley Done for the Year
Hurley out for the year with a torn rotator cuff:
Update: which also included work to fix a frayed labrum.
Starting pitcher Eric Hurley has undergone surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, two club officials said, and won't pitch this season. A tear was discovered Tuesday in the right arm of the former top prospect, who made his major-league debut last season. He pitched for about five weeks until landing on the disabled list with shoulder soreness. He was considered a strong candidate to be in the Rangers' rotation in 2009.

Rush him.........
and you’ll have another Jose Capellan on your hands!
WTF Dude
how can you be EXCITED about a prospect (one of your own!) getting hurt?
I can see how a season-ending injury to a rivals best player would help you and, maybe, if your team had a bad player who your manager wouldn’t bench, I can see how that players injury could make you a little happy. But how the crap can you be thrilled about your own prospect getting hurt?
Its not like him pitching poorly was going to hurt the team, if he sucked (and their were better options) he would be down in AAA.
WTF…
You people are nuts!
Not all of us, just that guy is nuts.

Maybe he is an opposing fan
and does want Texas to rush him and possibly screw him up?
If not he is an idiot
Stick a fork in him
Odds are very high he’ll never again be a significant contributor. See: Windsor, Jason.
Many years from now, when his name's recalled
Everyone will say, "He should have passed the ball"

so much for him being better than the DVD trio from years back
that was BA a couple of years ago on Hurley’s banwagon.
Texas has a big pile of horse spit to show
for those four. Except for Hamilton of course
Don't believe the lies Bill!!!! look at the sparkly ERA!!! Sparkly, Sparkly!!! - McCovey Chronicles
Well, McCarthy has pitched pretty well when heathy,
of couse that hasn’t been very often and Diamond’s a good sleeper this year now back and fully healthy from TJ and bone spurs(ankle).

really?
the only year he threw over 100 innings for Texas (hell, the only year he threw over 22 innings) he had an ERA+ of only 93. Not terrible but hardly “pretty well”
After his first few starts that year he was pretty good.

Seems likely
if he makes the big league club. Otherwise I think they’re planning on putting him in the AAA rotation.
G G G E-flat_______ F F F D__________....
they have diamond, hamilton, bmac, hurley
when healthy, not much wrong there…
injuries happen, what can you do…
Stability is key, and JD is a Beast.

actually
I kind of remember it being John that liked Hurley over any of the DVD, who BA loved, at one point. I could be wrong.
I looked at their previous top 100s a while ago
The hurley quotes on one of them was “more exciting to watch than the dvd trio ever was” or something to that effect.
the preceding post was a great success.
hurley
too bad about Hurley. I liked him a lot….held onto him as a top prospect 6 months too long I think.
