Butler, Kendrick keepers?

I'm in a 12-team fantasy league (OBP, BA, RBI, TB, SB, runs -- ERA, WHIP, holds, saves, wins, strikeouts). I'm trying to figure out whether Billy Butler or Howie Kendrick should be considered keepers. I have room to keep them so that's not an issue.

Do you think Billy Butler is a keeper? Do you think Howie Kendrick is a keeper? More than that, I'm also wondering what to expect from them these next few years. Seems Butler was supposed to have a monster bat. He started hitting after the All-Star break. Can he continue that? As for Kendrick, I've read so many times about how he can win multiple batting titles. But can the guy stay healthy?

Your help would be appreciated.

Keep Both

Secondbase is always tough to fill and when healthy Kendrick has shown the ability to hit. You never want to give up on a guy who has the potential to be a top 5 2B in baseball as soon as next year.

In regards to Butler, should you keep him? YES!!!!! This guy has mashed since being recalled (.320 AVG, .512 SLG) and will likely hit .300 next year with developing power. Don’t forget that this guy is only 22 years old and most guys his age are still in AA or AAA.

Butler is most definitely a keeper. The added incentive here is that he’ll likely qualify at 1B next year, though in the future he might only be a DH. But there’s no doubting the kid can mash, and he has proven than since being recalled. A .300 Avg/25 HR/90 RBI season is not out of the question for next year, and he’ll only improve on that going forward.

As for Kendrick, I agree – you don’t give up on a potential top-5 2B. When healthy, he produces like one. I would just make sure to draft a decent backup for if/when he is on the DL.

Kendrick

I’m just not a Kendrick supporter in terms of fantasy baseball,
but those league settings may give him a bit of a boost over the normal 5×5.

Butler has definitely shown he should be kept if it’s more than 4-5 keepers a team
