Suggestions
I am working on the book now. The first three teams I do will be the Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, and Kansas City Royals, and I will start posting Top 20 prospects from those systems once they are written here.
Any suggestions for blog coverage right now?

I would like to see a Pablo Sandoval Crystal Ball.
Will his power develop? Where will he play on defense? Will he be a Vlad hacker or a Pete Happy hacker? Might be really interesting.
I am Cameron Wood and this is my son and business partner CW Culberson.
Ubaldo Jimenez
something on him, player profile or player update.

With you working on the book
maybe you could throw up a couple of things like You’re the GM or You’re the Farm Director, they don’t take too much time on your end and they generate discussion(at least they used to). I don’t remember how long it’s been since one of those type posts were made, but it might be worth a try again. Atlanta, Baltimore, LAA, even the Dodgers would all be interesting teams to try.

I’d like to see you be the GM for a couple rebuilding teams like O’s, Royals, M’s, Athletics etc.
I sort of think
that will be the answer everybody gives to a lot of teams.

Ideas
I would love to see any of the following:
1. Angel Villalona profile – This guy seems to have equal amounts of fans and detractors on this site. It would be interesting to read your thoughts.
2. Pedro Alverez Update – I would like to know your opinion on why Pittsburgh changed their stance. Many were quick to blame him and Boras but it appears now that NOBODY was innocent.
3. Austin Jackson profile

I’m interested in your take on Villalona as well. Despite the fact that he was 17 years old for most of the season, it seems that a lot of people are writing him off after this season since he didn’t go .300/.400/.500 with a bunch of walks. Some say he is fat and slow, while others say he is athletic and could still move back to 3rd base.
Top 5 guys you blew the call on
Doesn’t matter if you picked them to make it or flop, just 5 guys you missed on. What was it about them that they were able to overcome and find big league success or unexpectedly did them in. Don’t include guys who crashed because of injury.
For extra credit, what lessons did you learn from those missed calls?

Cool idea. I think there is a lot to be learned from a series like this.

Mock draft? RL draft?
Did you do anything on the mock draft? Who you thought did the best/worst? I usually see people asking about that in these threads and yet I don’t remember ever seeing anything about the mock draft or the real draft for that matter once they concluded.
Deep cuts
I like to hear your take on top prospects as I really respect your opinion, John, but I really would like to hear more from you on players we don’t already discuss ad nauseum.
How about a regular sleeper focus rotating through the various organizations? This would also be nice during the season as prospects emerge.
I am thinking about prospects outside of an organizations top ten.
from the fanposts
two big topics have been the NL cy young and martin perez. would love to hear your take on either or both.
Murphy
Could you do something on Dan Murphy? He’s a pretty intriguing guy, considering the big season he had, and I’m curious what you think of him going forward, especially given the big debate as to what he’s capable of. Guys with question marks are far more interesting than sure things.
still waiting
on anything you can give me about Wilson Ramos.
I would also love to get your take on Vin Mazzaro.
Derek Holland Crystal Ball
Pretty please!
Now raise your goblet of rock. It's a toast to those who rock!
Michael Taylor crystal ball
He has had 2 very different years. I’d like to see what you think his future holds.
Touch em all Joe...
Matt Wieters crystal ball
The crystal ball feature probably takes too much time to do while you’re writing your book, but if not I think it would be interesting to see your guess on him. Joe Mauer with more power, or some other career path.
On a real life note, as Jfish26101 said, we know it’s been a rough year for you so I hope this time around is a bit more relaxing and smoother.
Perhaps...
A prospect retro on James Shields, Game 1 starter of the Tampa Bay Rays for the ALDS. How did he go from being a back of the rotation starter with some promise, to signing the longest contract given by Tampa to being a top of the rotation starter along with Scott Kazmir.
Betting Odds
Maybe make your predicted odds on how a minor league player will develop.
What are the odds so-and-so hits 20 homeruns in the majors?
….odds so-and-so will make the big leagues?
…odds so-and-so develops into an ace?
You could mention a player and we could ask what to make the odds on someone developing.

David Purcey
Crystal ball. finally got his BB rate down this year. would be interested in how you see his career playing out.
Four players
Jay Bruce, Phil Hughes, Homer Bailey, Nick Noonan.
How about...
A look at guys like Montanez, Aviles, ect. Guys who broke out (or showed signs of it) after being written off as too old/not good enough.
Maybe a guess on a couple guys for next season in the same boat. Seems like every year there are a handful of late bloomers.
How about: You be the Commissioner
We could do a “You be the Commissioner.” How would you improve baseball.
Compare stats to pre-steriod era
Compare current stats to the pre-steroid era. How big an affect did steroids have on HR’s and relief pitchers K rates.
biggest power drops since serious steroid testing
Which players have had the biggest power drops since serious steroid testing began.
Suggestion for doing the book, top prospect lists, etc...
And it kind of hurts me to say it-Do the teams that you believe will make big prospect related trades (on the recieving end) last, and prospect trading teams first.
An example for last year would be the Oakland Athletics. They made a slew of trades which completly changed their top 20 list several times during the off season. Its best to hold those teams till the end to get the full list. On the flip side, its better to get the teams that will be trading those prospects first so that it can help with discussion when those trades inevitably come up. We can all look at things like “well, the Marlins traded Dan Uggla, and they got X, Y and Z, who are all Grade ? Prospects.” And we can compare it to other trades and disect it easier.
Not that I am saying that the A’s will be making a lot of trades this off season; they might be a decent bet to be a middle group of top 20 listers, since their trading chips were mostly dealt during the season, and really all they have left to trade would be Street and Duchscherer.
But as I eluded to earlier, the Marlins might be a good late team. The Yankees and RedSox are always a good First Team because they will be the ones bringing veterans in.
