Matt Cerda story

Good story on espn about Cerda and his work ethic.

Notice the fact of who he's compared to and how far he has fallen off the map since his dominance in high school ball.

Yeah

i saw this. Good stuff.
I don’t even remember a Cerda kid from that LLWS, I just remember Almonte.

Speaking of LLWS I’m really curious to see how this Kenneth Fontenot develops. I was hoping his Lake Charles, Louisiana team would advance but Hawaii beat em.
This Fontenot kid can throw in the 76 mph already!

ehhhh

success in the little league world series is almost all about size and not that much to do with ability

the best player on my high school team was a bench warmer on his little league all star team

waiting for 2011....

Is he not catching?

It’s a good story, but I was disappointed to see it doesn’t look like Cerda is catching.

The story said...

that he did move off catching in like high school or college, but when the Cubs drafted him they informed him that they wanted him to move back to catcher.

he caught Sat Night

I’m too lazy to check how often he is catching. But he did catch Saturday night, so the move hasn’t been abandoned.

Wow

He must be the tiniest DH in pro ball.
