Recent Signees - What Now?

Anyone know the plan for Alvarez, Hosmer, Posey or Alonso?  I see Smoak is in the MWL. and Skipworth in the GCL.  You'd think for the millions paid for these guys they would want to get started right away.

Last Year

Wieters made his debut in Hawaii. I imagine at least one of these guys might do the same. Maybe Matusz, since the Orioles like doing that apparently.

Alonso

He was assigned to the GCL Reds. Since they only have 7 games left, he’ll end up with another Reds affiliate soon.

Posey

Headed to Rookie League, then probably Salem-Keizer:

Do you think that Eric Hosmer is advanced enough

to go to Hawaii in the offseason? I’d like to see an infield of Eric Hosmer – 1B , Johnny Giavotella – 2B and Mike Moustakas – 3B.

His bat is supposedly the most advanced high school bat since Upton.

Actually, some have said it’s better. I’m not sure about that, but it’s been said. Obviously the difference is Hosmer plays 1st and doesn’t have the athleticism. Though there has been some RF talk because of his absolute cannon for an arm. I guess what I’m saying is maybe. His bat could be advanced enough to handle Hawaii, but not sure they’ll go that route since he won’t seem much action this year. It’s a huge jump after not seeing much pro pitching.
