I'm curious as to why there isn't more buzz around Bell. He's playing CF in AA for the Red Sox organization. Granted, he's already 25, but he seems to have a pretty fair bat, having produced (until this year) very strong contact rates for a player with above average power. This season, he's still producing with his numbers at 286/361/479 with 13HR, 49RBI, and 3SB. The rest of his stats can be found here : http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Bubba%20Bell&pos=LF&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=488694
I'll be the first to admit that he's got a relatively poor age relative to league, but I don't see any reason to believe that Bell won't continue to produce as he moves up the ladder. Assuming he can stick in CF, Bell should be a solid 4th OF at minimum, with a solid chance of developing into a solid regular. I'm curious if any of the posters here have any sort of insight or scouting impressions regarding Bell, and why he doesn't get more love?
