Jon Niese
I was just wondering what you guys think about Jon Niese. He has flown under the radar and seems to be exremely underrated. I think he has the potential to be a #3 or possibly #2 starter in the majors. It isn't all about all about velocitu even though his isnt that bad (90-92), has a great curve 12-6, and inconsistent change-up so I see no reason why he can't turn out like an Andy Pettitte or good Barry Zito. What are your thoughts?

a what Barry Zito?
a GOOD Barry Zito?
Thats a ridiculous comment, as it implies Barry was not ever any good. The dude won a Cy Young and posted some other very strong seasons. Even if he is toast now, still an open question, he has done almost everything you could hope a prospect to turn into.

To Defend
I believe what he is saying is that we have seen two sides of Barry Zito and he is saying it would be the good Zito and not the bad Zito. Though, I do agree that a good Zito would mean more of an ace type of pitcher, but Barry did have some mediocre seasons after his cy young.

I'm going to assume that's a typo
because 2001-2002 excluding 2002 = 2001

I'm a fan but
I’m not sure he’s a “2/3” type. I’d say, if he develops, he’s a solid mid-end of the rotation type (when he’s on, then more mid-rotation; if he has an off year, more back of the rotation). Somewhat your “typical” (and I use that loosely) lefty.
But that’s me.
