Felix Pie in the Rookie League?
I picked up Felix Pie as a throw-in in a Strat-O-Matic trade, and he disappeared from the box scores for the last week or so. Now, he appears to have landed in the Rookie League. Is that true?
www.milb.com says he went 2-3 with a homer, walk and five ribbies on June 29.
Really? That seems like a pretty big sign the Cubs are fed up with him. What are the odds he's in the Cleveland system sometime in the next couple weeks?

Pie
He hurt his hand sliding into second base earlier in the month. It’s a rehab assignment.
Well that makes more sense.
At least he’s having a little success somewhere.
With that mystery solved, what are the odds he’ll ever grow up to be Corey Patterson? (not that that’s a good thing, mind you…)

AzPhil, one of the best Cubs online sources, suggests that this may be disciplined related. There’s a very interesting post over there and I don’t think it’s kosher to cut and paste here, so I won’t. That said, Phil does acknowledge that he is reading between the lines. Short of it is, Pie’s basically healthy, Pie partied too much in the bigs, Pie didn’t work hard, Pie sulked when demoted, and thus, sending him out to Arizona’s hellish weather.
