Homer gets the call
"RHP Homer Bailey's seasoning in Class AAA Louisville ends Thursday, when the right-hander is expected to start in Philadelphia. The start was to belong to RHP Josh Fogg, but after Saturday's catastrophe (six runs, seven hits in 3 1/3 innings), Fogg landed on the disabled list Sunday with lower back spasms. Bailey was scheduled to pitch Sunday in Louisville, and he did, but he went only two innings before he was pulled. Bailey was 4-4 with a 4.52 ERA at Louisville after going 4-2 with a 5.76 ERA in nine starts last year with the Reds"
How immediate will his impact be?

He’s no Trevor Cahill, thats for sure.

Slow and steady
The Reds are smart to be calling up Bailey. I hope they let him pitch through the early problems he is likely to experience. It is refreshing to see that they are in full rebuilding mode and willing to suffer the growing pains a team experiences with such a young core. By sacrificing the present by playing so many youngsters (Bruce, Cueto, Votto, Bailey, Volquez) the Reds will reap the benefits down the road as the team grows together. Jocketty appears to be committed to youth and for that I commend him.

Call me crazy, but...
I am beginning to think that Homer Bailey is overrated.

To be fair...
You are a fan of School of Rock so your ability to judge anything is VASTLY overrated!!!! ;)
