Change of Scenary Idea

Both these guys seem like they need a big time change of scenary to have a chance to fulfill the potential they have shown in the past. I'm talking about Brandon Wood and Anthony Reyes. Would this be a workable trade? As a Cards fan, I'd be more than happy to have the possibility of Wood developing into a great third baseman than continue to see them shuttle Reyes between Memphis and St. Louis to start/relief. I'm sure Angels fans feel the same way about Wood.

Not me

Just me but if the Angels dealt Brandon Wood for Anthony Reyes that would be a HUGE admission that he just isn’t going to be the player theynthought he was. I think Wood, who just turned 23, needs more than 97 ab’s scattered over 2 seasons to get to that point. I know it’s just me maybe but as bad as he has been I still think he is a better player than some of the guys who are “standing in his way” of a big lerague job…Izturis, Aybar, etc.

I think the Cardinals ARE to that point with Reyes though and would be delighted to make that move. I DO agree that Wood might do better with a change of scenery. Sometimes a kid’ll do better when he can get away from the place where he is supposed to be the next Troy Glaus and just be a good player.

Wouldn't he be "the next Troy Glaus" in St. Louis too?

I mean, the starter there this season is… Troy Glaus.

Heh.
