Trade the Reds E. Volquez?

Hi guys,

I am in a keeper league and have E. Volquez. He is HOT today!! Will he be tomorrow?

The question is would you trade Volquez for C. Buchholz and Z. Greinke?

Is Volquez for real? Since he rebuilt himself as a groundball pitcher last year in the minors and has REALLY stepped forward this year...will it last?

Some other issues might be....

did he have enough inning last year in the minors to be ready for all the use he has this year?

Will Dusty burn out another young gun?

I'd do it

Frankly, I think Greinke is slightly better than Volquez, and if you can keep Buchholz for a few years, he will probably be rather valuable

my opinion

Buchholz was as trendy last year as Volquez is this year.
I like Volquez a ton, but if you can get both Buchholz and Greinke for him- do it.

how large is the league?

I dont see this as such a slam dunk as some of you other guys seem to.
How large is the league? I like Buchholz and Greinke but Jesus, I think you could aim really really high right now with Volquez. You could probably get a Cole Hamels type for him, maybe even a panicking Jake Peavy owner would do a 1 for 1 or something.
I don’t know how your other owners are or what not, but Volquez is having an ABSURD season and I think you should aim for the sky if you’re gonna deal him

Depends on the stats/keeper-ness of league, etc.

I mean, Greike’s nice for ratios and such, but he’s not much of a K guy. And if you only keep like 5-10 guys, you may not want to keep Greinke (unless it’s like a 20-teamer or something, then maybe).

I’d probably just take whomever you like more from Buccholz and Volquez.
