1B prospect on the rise?
Logan Morrison, drafted in the 22nd round of the 2005 draft out of HS was a popular sleeper prospect on many lists to begin the year, including John Sickels.
Not much mention has been made of him, but he has been lighting it up as a 20 year old in a pitchers league; the FSL. Here's his line, almost half way through the season...

Mike Carp - Binghampton Mets
21 yr. old in AA (I know, soon to be 22)

vs. LHP – .321/.346/.513 (78 AB)

it’s surprising that he’s still under the radar somewhat given the fact he’s a Mets prospect.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

Probably
because he is repeating the league. That’s not exactly a death sentence, but he should be doing this the second time around.

Carp
I think the thing with Carp’s lack of hype is that BN rated him the 9th best prospect in baseball before the 2006 season, so there was a lot of discussion about him then (mostly of the “how can you rank him that high?!” variety, but still, he obviously showed some hitting skills in 2005), and since he fell so far since then, people are taking a “wait and see” attitude. At least I am. If he turns out great, that publication will have some serious bragging rights, since their caveat was, “I hope he is not rushed, and I don’t expect him to be, but he’s a name to remember about five or ten years from now. The wait for the projected prime will be a long one that’s very much worth it.”

Agree on Carp
I think he was a bit overhyped in 2006, and perhaps let it go to his head. Reports from both the Mets and scouting sources last year said his conditioning was a problem. The Mets apparently thought his struggles last year were partly from letting his conditioning go when he was out with the hand injury. They didn’t invite him to ST this year partly because of that. So I think the Mets have been partly responsible for under selling him lately because they wanted to push him.
Still, he seems to have responded to the challenge, and as one of the best hitters currently in the Eastern League and still only 21, he probably does deserve some recognition at this point.
