Adam Lind

Now, I am biased because own this guy in my fantasy team, yet he has dominated AAA in the international league.  Today, he was 3-4 with two doubles, a walk and a strikeout.

I thought JP Riccardi was from the billy Beane school of baseball.  He seems to have a great eye in a difficult league.  I just don't understand why the Jays continue to use Mench, Wilkenson and Stewart when they have a young prospect who is ready.  They need offense.

Anyone have any idea why this guy is still down there?  Did he piss someone off?

not sure i agree

when you call up a young player like Lind you have to be prepared for some struggles and need to be extremely patient.

Right now Toronto can’t afford that. They are going with 3 guys and just using the hot hand. They aren’t afraid of offending anyone by sitting them and it’s been ok.

Thomas might have been a mistake but he was hitting 200 and when they decided to sit him 2 days a week because they desperately needed hitting he cried about his option. They were forced to cut him as you can’t have this distraction going on.

yet

are Mench and Wilkerson the answer? Seems to me that a club that is starving for offense should take a chance on a kid who is dominating AAA ball. Of course, he might have some growing pains, yet an offense of Wells, Rolen, Rios, Adams and Lind could be pretty good with their pitching staff.

Tampa is doing pretty well with Longoria. They could have stayed with a veteran, yet decided to go with the future. Lind was a top 20 propect as of last year. I think John was pretty high on him.

Wilkerson

is playing very well right now and has been for the past three weeks or so. His defence has been good too. I think the Shannon Stewart experiment is over and Mench is a nice lefty-killer to platoon with Stairs. If Wilkerson or the Jays falter considerably over the next month or so, Lind will be back – likely for good.

Thomas

I dunno, seems more like John Gibbons can’t handle players very well. Lilly, Hillenbrand, Thomas. Those are just three off the top of my head.

Thomas

The Thomas thing had nothing to do with Gibby. He was mad that he was going to be benched which was a directive from the front office. Gibby had nothing to do with it. Also, Hillenbrand is out of baseball for a reason. He is a notorious jerk who was quickly run out of cities despite decent production.

There's a perfectly logical explanation...

Because the way the Jays are run is a joke. They are so knee jerk in many of their moves that their players are constantly looking over their shoulder. I mean they give Lind 18 AB’s or so to do something and then immediately turf him. And it’s not the first time that they’ve done something like that to Lind. The Jays handling of McGowan was poor too. They had him bouncing back and forth between being a starter and reliever, between Syracuse and Toronto and onlt showed “faith” in the guy when they didn’t have any choice. The Jays systematically break down their prospects confidence.

Farnsworth: Start the ship, Leela. Let's just steal the damn radar dish and get back to our own time.
Fry: But- But won't that change history?
Farnsworth: Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa! Let's get the hell out of here already! Screw history!

Farnsworth: You mustn't interfere with the past! Don't do anything that affects anything. Unless it turns out you were supposed to do it. In which case, for the love of God don't not do it!
Fry: Got it.
Farnsworth: If for example you were to kill your grandfather, you'd cease to exist.
Fry: (gasps) But existing is basically all I do.

The signing of Stewart last offseason...

Had to be one of the worst decisions made by JP. He signed Reed Johnson weeks before, knew that his 2nd best hitting prospect, and closest to the majors prospect was waiting in the wings for an everyday spot, yet he still signs a guy who’s been cooked for 3 years now. I would love to know the explanation behind this move.
