Nick Evans being called up to the Show
Report: Mets call up Nick Evans
According to the Binghamton Press, the injury-ravaged Mets have called up first baseman Nick Evans from Double-A Binghamton. Evans was told of the move during the ninth inning of Friday night's game in Reading, Pa., and will fly to Denver this morning to join the big-league club. The Mets apparently are reacting to the hamstring injury suffered by backup first baseman Marlon Anderson during Friday night's game against the Rockies. Evans was hitting .292 with eight homers and 31 RBIs in 45 games with the B-Mets at the time of his surprise call-up.

Nobody has indicated what his role will be, but I'd assume he will probably play in LF for the time being after pretty much everyone on the MLB roster other then Chavez (Who'll likely be in right) is hurt, he might also see some platoon duties with Delgado.
I'm sure John will have a good rant about the Mets rushing their prospects again, but I kinda like it. What is there to learn from staying down and beating up on a league in the minors (In general), better to challange the guy, no?
Thoughts/Projections?

Lots of injuries last night
And Evans isn’t the only call-up going to Denver. Ian Stewart and Seth Smith are both getting called up by the Rockies to take the roster spots of Clint Barmes and Willy Taveras or Brad Hawpe.

Nick Evans
Wow, he must of have lost a good 20-30 pounds from the beginning of last season.. In the photos I’ve seen of him he looked like a heavy set kid, but seeing him in the majors he looks pretty slim.
He looks good at the plate, and isn’t a butcher in LF either. Good sign.

increasing his trade value by the AB
The Mets will package him and Heilman for a setup man come July if they are still in the race.

No Thanks..
My thought process after his monster year in St.Lucie last year was that him and Carp would make a perfect platoon next year.

Evans
Nice to see him with the ability to drive it opposite field with power. I’d like to see what he does with something inside.
At the very least, he could be a useful platoon guy in the bigs. He can mash lefties.
