Is Kershaw being called up?
Kershaw left his start yesterday after only one inning. He struck out two and got Maybin on a groundout to first. I have searched around and there is no word of an injury that I found. So I am assuming that health is a non-factor. Sometimes the Dodgers will do this to limit pitch counts for an entire season, so I am not sure if this was planned or if they plan to call him up soon. The Dodgers need a fifth starter on Tuesday May 27.
Do the Dodgers call up Kershaw and what type of numbers do people expect from him if they do?

thats funny
I just came to this site to ask the same question. I saw he pitched 1 inning and struck out 2 then he got pulled. Any info?? The game recap says, Twenty-year-old left-hander Clayton Kershaw started Thursday’s game for Jacksonville, pitching one perfect inning with two strikeouts in his tenth outing and ninth start of the year. The Dallas, Texas native did not leave because of injury. The Dodgers have tried to limit the amount of pitches and innings pitched Kershaw has used early in 2008.
ps i hope i’m allowed to copy and paste this… let me know if I’m not.

Can't wait...
Not sure what kind of numbers he will put up but I haven’t been this excited about a pitching prospect since King Felix got the call.

i understand what the dodgers are trying to do,
but this is some dumbass shit. pulling a starter after 1 inning does significantly more long term damage than pulling him after 5 would, or just giving him an extra day’s rest would.

yes, but
they generally don’t throw 7 innings 5 days beforehand, nor do they throw 7 innings 5 days after.

From BA
“We had received a phone call from our office in L.A. that they wanted to limit him to just one inning,” Jacksonville manager John Shoemaker said. “The organization this year has been very cautious about the number of innings that he’s pitched and the amount of innings that he’s going to pitch each month. So we just follow the orders and we’ll probably hear more from them either tomorrow or later on this weekend.”
Kershaw said he was unaware beforehand that he would only throw one inning.
“I had no idea,” Kershaw said. “I thought it was just a regular start tonight. When I got two outs, I saw the bullpen warming up, and I thought he was just throwing to get ready for later in the game. But they took me out. It wasn’t (the Jacksonville coaching staff’s) choice, it wasn’t my choice, it’s just what you’ve got to do sometimes. I don’t know anything about it, I don’t know why yet—hopefully it’s good, but we’ll see how it

Rumor
Is there any truth to the rumor that he flipped out after getting pulled? Apparently (according to a blog – might not mean jack) he had a bit of a hissy fit. I hope this perceived attitude problem doesn’t extend to the majors. He has incredible talent, but I hope he has the head needed to go along with it.

Interesting
Does Malkin get put in the same class as O Reilly now? I haven’t followed her (or OReilly) for awhile, but am intersted if her public perception is now as an O’Reilly hackster.

A Good Sign
I’d rather see the competitive juices flowing. It is pretty hard to accept as the coddled pitching prodigy that wants to compete. It may all be for the greater good, but I’d pretty disappointed in the kid if he wasn’t very angry about such a move.

No truth to the rumor
Fortunately he isn’t a fist-pumping head case like a lot of other young arms (i.e. Joba).
