Concerned about Austin Jackson

Is anyone else concerned w/ Austin Jackson?  I thought he was overrated coming into the season but he's been very average, if not below average so far.  Here are his stats:

abs; 150

HRs; Nada

Avg: .260 (BLAH!)

RBI: 7!

SB:  6  (YEAH!)

I'm bringing him up because he was just dropped in 2 of my keeper leagues...I have the 1st FA add priority this week and was thinking about adding him but , after looking at his stats, im not so sure....

what do you guys think?

thanks

I think he is worth a pick-up

He has 22 walks in 150 at bats and he is only 21 in AA. He definitely could have value as a lead off man somewhere down the line. He isn’t going to slug .566 again like he did in the Florida State League in the majors but he could be Andre Ethier with more steals at his peak which certainly has value. This all depends on the number of keep slots you have of course but I think he is a solid B to B- prospect who has a chance to be a solid regular in the majors with an outside chance at a couple all-star games at his peak

thanks

Yeah and the yanks have a few aging outfielders so he could get a cup of coffee in the very near future…I was reading that part of the reason for his struggles are due to LOUSY WEATHER conditions. It’s apparently really cold where he;s playing….just a thought

then

playing in NY April/May and then Sept/Oct won’t bode well

A-Jax

His K% and BB% have both improved, so that mitigates some of the missing power. If he mantains his rates and hits 10 HR this year, he’ll be a top 20 prospect heading into next season.

Stay Away

He’s had one good stretch of ~300 ABs in his entire career.

Im not saying he’s a fluke, but there is a tremendous amount of risk compared to upside right now. He’s a good bit overrated at the very least.

No way is he a top 20 prospect heading into next season, IMHO. 10 HRs isnt going to do it.

depends...

10 HR’s, a .350+ OB, 30+ SB, and plus defender in CF probably makes him a top 25 guy at least.

He’s basically the same thing as Desmond Jennings except playing at a level higher at the same age

he had a big night Friday

3-4 w/ 4 rbis and his first HR.

Another over-hyped Yankee prospect

to be used as trade bait during this years deadline.
