Connor Jackson?

I was just wondering if anyone has noticed Connor Jackson's fast start as well as the diamondbacks.

Do you think Jackson is going to keep this up and finally have that breakout year? or do you think he will eventually fall back down to earth

The way hes going hes is becoming a top fantasy first basemen

any input would be much appreciated

any one have any projections for the rest of the year?

That’s what Jackson is looking like to me. Knock the power up a tick to adjust for era and park factors, and it’s pretty dead-on. A first baseman with a fantastic contact rate who walks more than he strikes out and hits for medium power.

I think Jackson is looking like a lock to hit .300 every year for the next five years. That, along with 20 HR a year and good gap power should make him a pretty valuable hitter. In the middle of that lineup, he should put up fantasy numbers like a Lyle Overbay career year.

Something like: .300-.330, 85-95 runs, 20-25 HR, 90-100 RBI, 5 SB

This year he might even beat those upper numbers, based on his great start. I don’t see him beating them consistently though, unless he can add some power.

Funny, he’s showing some speed this year with 4 triples and 3 SB so far. I’ve never heard him described as fast or athletic, but if he can knock out 10 or more steals a year, that’d add another dimension to his fantasy game, and put him firmly in with the 2nd tier first basemen.

CoJack

I have always loved his bat. I remember defending him on here about a year ago when someone was calling him overrated and crediting his minor league success to his ballparks. (Same thread telling was saying why Arizona sucked and would finish 4th or 5th in their division because the Dodgers were going to run away with it.)

I see him as a very high average, high on base guy with enough 2B to be a very productive middle of the order guy for years to come. He should contend for batting titles.

I see him having multiple 320/430/490 seasons. Mark Grace without the gold gloves is a fair comparsion.
