BJ Upton - Emerging Superstar?

After a 3-5 game today, BJ Upton raised his average to a solid .297. While the power is slacking a bit (3 HR/8 2B), Upton is flashing all his tools, stealing bases as well (7 SB). The question -- is BJ Upton on the way to a great career? He is still young (23) and has had some experience. With the team he has around him, I personally believe Upton is one of the better young players in the game, but am still rather unsure. Thoughts?

My thoughts

Isn’t he already a superstar?

No

Not on par with A-Rod, Pujols, etc.

Who really is? Those are lofty heights that very few players reach.

Anyways, I agree with King Billy Royal, he really isn’t an emerging star, that was last year.

he's already an emergencing superstar

not a super super star per say yet , but getting there. he’s not on the A-rod Pujols level but isn’t really that far from the Sizemore / Granderson level.

its crazy to think how good these guys are likely going to be. What other brother combos have had this much potential? The Cansecos? :D

Good to see the average still around 300

it’s still early, but many treated his 300 in ‘07 as a fluke due to the high K’s…....i think we’ll see that despite the K’s when bj hits the ball he hits it hard and is always going to have an “inflated” BABIP

Well, he has cut down on his strikeout rate so far this year, so that is at least partly responsible for his BA staying around .300.

BOSSMAN! JUNIOR!

I think you’ll find there is a small cult here that loves BJ to death. He’s awesome and I think he’s underrated all things considered.
