Minor League Notes 4/27

Star-divide

AAA-  Jay Bruce hit a 2-run bomb in Lousville's 13-4 creaming of Columbus. He is now hitting .326 with 5 Homers- 17 RBI, 15 Runs in 22 games - with 22k's and 6 Walks and 6-6 Stealing as well. Collin Ballester got drilled for 3-7-5-5 for the loss.

The persistent Darrell Rasner keeps pushing for another shot with the Yanks. He went 6-5-1-1-6 to beat Syracuse. He is now 4-0 .87 in 5 starts.

Nick Adenhart tossed 8- 3hit innings at Fresno tonight...8-3-1-0-3-5. Some dumbass on here thought he qualified as an overated prospect on here a week ago or so...nice man :-) He's 4-0 .87 at age 21 in AAA...K/W ratio be damned!

AA- Andy LaRoche is back playing ball in case you hadn't noticed. He went 1-3 and walked a couple times for Jacksonville tonight.

Get on the Matt Gamel bandwagon before there are no seats left. He had a night for Huntsville...3-3 W/ 2 Triples, a Homer, a walk and 4 RBI. He is hitting .362 with 19 Runs and 19 RBI in 24 games and future big league great Matt LaPorta is driving him in a lot.

Smoooth CF prospect Dexter Fowler continued his fine season for Tulsa, going 2-4 tonight. he is hitting .310 with 16 Runs and 14 RBI in 23 games...7 steals, 3 Triples, 3 Homers, 10 Walks, 18 K's

Lefty Jamie Garcia pitched well again for Springfield...6-2-2-1-4-7... Season 3-2 2.17 and lots of grounballs (2.33-1) and 36 K's in 29 IP

A-Ball- Future big league ace Timmy Alderson pitched San Jose to a win with 6 strong innings...6-7-3-3-1-6. Good game in the Cal League... Alderson is 3-1 2.67 in 5 starts and turns 20 after the season.

Trevor Cahill. Man, I have GOT to see this guy. He is amazing! Dominated Rancho C tonight to the tune of 7-5-0-0-0-12. On the season he has guven up 20 hits, 5 walks, and Struck Out 39. He is 20.

Beau Mills is hitting .208 and I am confused. Perhaps i was wrong? It happens. C'mon Beau! Get it goin' brother.

Josh Vitters has another strained Boo-boo or the snifles or something...always something. I get the fweeling once he busts that people folks will say that he would have been great if he could have stayed healthy.

Jeremy Hellickson...brilliant. Most on here have been so inept at evaluating him or just plain ignorant of him that they should recuse themselves from evaluating him in the future..." He's done gots hims a 41-2 K/W ratio...I think hes GOOD now!" Actually, many are dumber than that and STILL will complain about his size or something stupid and meaningless like that...amazing.

Heh

An awful lot of bitching in what’s just a rundown of performances

Lars Anderson 0-1 with 3 BB
Daniel Bard 2 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K

For those who didn’t see Michael Bowden’s performance from yesterday (I don’t believe I saw a diary for it), he pitched 6 innings giving up 0 runs, 0 BB, 3 Hits, and 11 K’s, bringing his season ERA down to 3.70. 29/11 K/BB ratio in 24.1 innings

-1 and only member of the Jed Lowrie fan club!

Cahill

seems to be the real deal. Id like to see him promoted to Midland AA.

When will then be now? Soon.

Rasner

Why don’t you like him? He was pretty decent last year before he broke his hand and has always been decent in the minors.
