So is this guy for real? He's been on of the minors best hitters since the start of last year...

last year 20 years old played second base, has moved to 3B...

last year 327/404/516 with a 51/65 BB/K ratio

this year at A+ 369/440/462 and he hasn't even gotten his power stroke on

I’ve wondered why the guy doesn’t get more love. I don’t know about how his tools rate, but he sure seems to hit, has a little pop in his bat and seems to control the strike zone pretty well. What little I’ve heard about his glovework makes him sound like a solid third baseman. Gamel on the other hand will likely end up at first base or a corner outfield spot.

The entry in BA’s Prospect Handbook isn’t too complimentary on his defense at 3B. Reading between the lines, it looks like he’ll end up either at 2B or the OF. He’s a very interesting prospect and he’ll probably be alot higher rated next year.
