PrintF-Mart started the year dead cold, but he has a 5 game hit streak with a .440/.652 obp/slugging line over those last 5 games.
Just 5 games, obviously, so could be as insignificant as the first week of the season when he barely got a hit. but, still, nice to see him put a good streak together, been a long time (for a 19 year old!) since he's put up numbers that make one raise an eyebrow.

I Heart F-Mart.
When I was 19, I was a lazy ass-hat off to college to get drunk and score with girls. F-Mart instead is hitting AA pitching and doing it fairly well.
Age relative to level is as important to figuring out which of all these kids will boom or bust as any other metric we have. F-Mart is on track to hit the majors at age 20 and the list of regular MLB players at/or before age 20 is an impressive one indeed. I certainly think F-Mart will continue that trend.

The best drunken college story I have is that I invited this one cute girl to my dorm room, where we proceeded to get hammered and then had super-hot sex all night. When I woke up the next morning totally hungover, she was gone. Not a single trace of her – as if she never existed. I searched everywhere, but couldn’t find her.
She was in my 8:00 a.m. class the next day and I saw her there. After class I aksed her, “where did you go?”
“I was embarassed. I’ve never done that before.”
“What – get drunk and have sex? Oh, please all the kids are doing that these days – it’s no big thing.”
“No, I’ve never had sex before.”
“WHAT?!? You’re a virgin – or should I say, you were a vrigin.”
“Yes.”
“Awesome!”
Unfortunately for me – I married that girl…

Had a friend who had a similar situation while at NYU. Girl freaked out and left at some point. The guy wakes up the next day around 10, and her shoes and purse are still there. Gets outside to get breakfast, and she’s wandering around shoeless outside in the snow…

If Fernando....
If Fernando starts hitting for power, I’d say we can let the hype machine lose (well, the justified hype machine anyway). He hit very well in ST but I still haven’t seen the power that is being forecasted for him. Fingers crossed though.
