Not a Rookie: Ryan Braun

Do you think he'll play at the same level next year?  I have a feeling that he's going to be kind of a bust...especially from a fantasy perspective.

I hate the 112/29 K/B ratio.  Am I letting those numbers influence my opinion toward him too much?

I want him to be really good.  I could keep him, Ichiro, or BJ Upton for 2 more seasons.  Ichiro seems to be the safest pick.

idk
but the .450/.516 is not going to be repeated thats for sure.  He was actually pretty average vs. righties. 93/13 k/bb ratio.  I wouldn't say bust but I wouldn't be surprised if he came to a .280/.320 line which wouldn't be all that great.

clarify
.450/.516 were his numbers vs. lefties last year.

Braun
Seems to be a popular bust candidate....for those who didn't grab him before last year's run.  I agree, last year's numbers may be over his head, but I don't see why he can't be a .290-40-100 guy.  In this case, I would keep Ichiro last, but then again I play in a points league so I am never overly concerned with steals...

his K:BB
Was really bad last year, but it had been much better in the minors.

I think he ends up a full season this year with about a  2:1 K:BB ratio

Meh
I think he'll still hit well, but what's good for a 3B isn't really anything all that special for a LFer.
This is me being polite.

LF vs 3B
These are based on Yahoo's MLB stats:

3 Left Fielders hit over .300 last year (5 more hit over .290).
8 3B hit over .300, with one more at .293.

5 LF hit 30+ HR last year.
4 3B hit 30+ HR.

5 LF drove in 100+ last year (2 more had 90+).
7 3B drove in 100+ runs, with 3 more at 90+.

3 LF had an OPS of .900+ last year (1 over 1.000).
5 3B had an OPS of .900+ last year (2 over 1.000).

Even assuming Braun regresses over a full season (and I do), I still believe he will put up "special" numbers, even as a LF.
