Michael Burgess
What is everyones take on Michael Burgess, OF Washington Nationals?

He has an extreme amount of power and I hear he has impressive plate discipline for someone his age.
He was taken with the 49th pick in the 2007 MLB draft, but to most he was easily a first round talent.

Potential breakout guy
Burgess was a guy with huge upside entering the 2007 season but when teams started pitching around him, he got his swing all out of sorts. I agree with you that the Nationals got a first round talent in the supplemental round.
His biggest challenge is going to be maintaining a consistent approach at the plate. Initially he is going to pile up the strikeouts but his potential for gap-to-gap power is promising for the Nationals. His arm is strong enough to keep him in RF going forward.
My guess is the Nationals will challenge him in Hagerstown in much the same way they did with Chris Marrero last season.
Snider
I see him as awfully similar offensively to what we were looking at with Snider (and Marrerro, to some extent) going into their 2007 seasons. Statistics are uncannily similar to Snider's in particular, and even the skill set and body type is a good comp. Burgess is "slimmer" of course, but is no gazelle himself.
