PUT IT ON THE BOARD! Juan Uribe - WAIVED
Does this mean the Chisox go with a platoon of Danny Richar & Alexei Ramirez at 2b? Or is Alexei going to play some CF and Richar will start full time at 2b?
Ramirez just hit another bomb today.
And where does Uribe go now?

Just stupidity on Kenny Williams part
its not as if letting go of a guy, in Uribe, who didn't have more question marks than answers for that team in particular. He hadn't played regular 2nd for about 5 years. Had a little pop, but horrible on base skills. So cutting ties makes sense.
The fact that less than 4 months ago they gave him a bunch of money and before really getting a chance to earn it they cut the chord makes no sense whatsoever.
Just really bad planning on the ChiSox part
Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Questions
How much of Uribe's $4.5M is CWS on the hook for? Is the contract still guaranteed if he doesn't make it out of the spring?
Also, I presume that if Uribe signs somewhere else, then CWS doesn't have to pay him, but maybe I'm wrong about that...

This Can't Be Right
but it looks like Article IX, Section B of the Uniform Agreement indicates that if you cut a guy in the spring for "failure to exhibit sufficient skill or competitive ability" then you aren't on the hook for the whole contract amount.
