Anyone see that shot by Milledge today?
wow.... I'm thinking he breaks out big this year... I've been thinking it all spring, but after I saw that, it was like visual confirmation from Lastings. it wasn't off no scrub neither... it was Bonderman.... in other news... Clayton Kershaw, 3 IP, 2 H, 3 K... Jay Bruce 1-3, 2 SO.... any members live in FLA/ARI and able to get us some personal reports? I haven't seen any diaries [excuse me, "fanposts"] of the sort this spring...

I Saw It!
That was a rocket shot. I too have been predicting a breakout year for Milledge. He's still not a finished product by any means, and will probably still struggle a bit with good breaking balls, but I think he's near turning the corner when it comes to tapping into his power. He's not going to be in a pitcher friendly enviornment this year, so go Milledge!

gotta like....
....Kershaw's control. plus 4 groundouts! despite the fact i know, in my heart of hearts, that he should be in the minors come April, i'm starting to really really want him in the majors.
on the negative side, Kuroda, although he pitched fine otherwise, appears to have had a 2-11 GO/AO ratio for the day -- more than a touch discouraging.
there's a lot of interesting races going on in Dodger camp right now. i'm not sure whether the injuries are clearing things up or making them more and more hectic.

lol
that's a great phrase: 'post-hype sleeper'. I know exactly what you mean, that should become an official term.
and, yeah, Milledge fits it exactly. the bloom is off the rose because he didn't put up HOF numbers at age 21 or what have you, but all the talent is there and he's been improving his game steadily.

Milledge
The only reason he is a "post-hype sleeper" is because the Mets did a terrible job of introducing him to the majors and giving him regular ABs to get him settled in. Indeed, it was their own foolishness that lead to his value plummeting. Had they given him the job over Shawn Green (and were it not for an untimely injury), we might be talking about the potential of him being another brick in the Met's young foundation. Instead the Mets overreacted to his "attitude issues" (which included a rap CD, being so outrageous as to high-five fans, and pissing off Billy Wagner [which, when taking Billy's sense of veteran entitlement into account, it seems that any rookie who failed to bow at the altar of his veteran greatness and hand-clean his locker would provoke such a reaction]).
In sum, the only reason he is a post-hype sleeper is because of poor handling, not poor performance. The blame should be placed entirely on the Mets FO for taking an extremely valuable asset, reducing it's value through mismanagement, and then trading it at the nadir of its value. Poor player management and even worse roster and economic management.

Milledge
That was a wonderful site to see. I agree with the poster above. He's a definite sleeper. One I'm glad to have on my teams.
P.S. I love the new site!
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?
