The Dodgers won't win a playoff series until the Cool-a-Coo returns.

fresh start for Kotchman....well kinda
Here is my prognosis and analysis for his upcoming season:

Games: 124
A/Bs:  394
runs: 57
hits: 121
2bs:  24
3bs: 2
HRs: 17
RBIs: 71
walks: 47
k's:  38
avg: .307
obp: .380
s/b's:  4
c/stealing: 3

I dont see Kotchman having a complete season once again due to injury. When healthy I rate him comparable to Sean Casey and/or Mark Grace. A nice average and nice OBP, but not much power production (especially for a 1b). With the additions to the Angels line-up, I dont see Kotchman being a middle of the order type of hitter. Hitting lower in the order where less power and run production is needed fits Kotchman better than his previous high expectations of Home Runs and RBI's.

Jed Lowrie.....best prospect in history of baseball, isn't that right John?

im kind of surprised
at most of these projections..I really think Kotch is capable of more than most are giving him credit for, at the very least, in the average category. He is a .300 hitter IMO

i agree.

i wasn't going to do a projection,
because i overthink them,
but now i will.

kotch has been massively underrated here
Games: 136
At-bats: 526
Runs: 96
Hits: 182
Doubles: 45
Triples: 1
Homers: 18
RBI: 103

AVG/OBP/SLUG: .345/.418/.538
Steals: yeah, right
Caught Stealing: 3

unless he gets plunked 23 times, there is no way that kotchman will put up an isolated discipline of greater than .100.  his excellent batting eye shows up more in his ability to avoid strikeouts and foul off borderline pitches, than in his ability to draw walks.

eh
overdoing his K total a bit. He won't strike out 34 times in 526 AB. All else is reasonable to me.

In an attempt to drive the ball more, I think it will show up in his W totals dropping, although still a nice ratio.

Casey at the bat...
Lets say he puts it all together this season. From one Casey to another.

Games:   144
At-Bats: 458
Runs:     88
Hits:    141
Doubles:  32
Triples:   2
Homers:   25
RBI:      80
Walks:    77
K's:      63

Avg:    .308/.407/.550

Steals:    5
CS:        4

I think he'll begin to turn that good batting eye and bat control into quite a bit more HR power this season. Even more selectiveness will allow himk to hit for a better avergae as well.
