Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

MONDAY

Well the dentist trip resulted in a numb mouth and some pain but not an actual root canal. I should have a post for you later today.

In the meantime, post here if your book arrived today.

The eagerly-anticipated arrival...
has brought about a significant reduction in my productivity at work today, but it's well worth it.

However, I couldn't help but cringe when I read the following: "Wade LeBlanc was a second round pick out of Auburn in 2006"....LeBlanc pitched at ALABAMA.

Just giving you a hard time, Mr. Sickels
No problem at all...just one of those rivalry things.

Excellent work, as always, on this year's edition!

Made it to Iowa
Most mail takes forever to get here, but the book showed up today, earlier than expected. The office couch thanks you. My employer...not so much.

Mine didn't make it.
But I think there was an issue with the address.

I emailed again on that last night.

There are no prospects on other teams, only players that Jack Zduriencik didn't want.

Nevermind...
Just got the email and it went to the correct address, so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

Thanks for everything!

West Virginia checking in.  Package was in one piece this year and the binding glue is excellent compared to '07 edition.  Thank you, and glad to see that you still have love for Andrew McCutcheon.

Closest Not-Hand Delivered one has arrived
Ottawa, KS has to be the closest one that you don't hand deliver right? Got here today, planning on reading it during the KU-MU game tonight :)

I still owe you a lunch, is your schedule any easier to get on this spring?

Sweet
Yorba Linda, California (The Land of Gracious Living)... and no, we don't call it "The OC"... no one says that and that show was the bane of my existence until it was mercifully cancelled.
Thanks John!

Book arrived in Enfield CT today
Just checking in, the book looks great!

Love the book, (but some pages are backwards)
Got the book, love the content.  A minor issue, pages 225 to 256 are upside down and backwards.

A little inconvenient, just have to turn the book upside down and go in reverse order for just those pages.

I suppose there are some other countries in this world that actually prefer it that way ;)

by djh57 on Feb 4, 2008 10:48 PM EST reply actions

backwards
We now have two reports of backwards pages 225 through 256. If it's a problem, send an email to JSBN01@aol.com.

no other representative from the state yet, so I'll say that I did get mine last night and did not watch a minute of my normal Monday night television because I was engrossed in the book!

Monday Night
Received mine in Walla Walla, Washington, last night:

- best entry was reading about Jacob McGee, then quickly flipping to David Price to see what was different, then going back to Kershaw to compare...

Enjoyed the "Generalissimo" reference, as well....

Mine came on Monday, meanwhile mail sent from two towns over on Thursday didn't arrive until Tuesday. Go figure our postal service.

Best Typo
Reid Fronk, Tampa Bay:

"He fell to the seventh round because of doubts about his love, which is mediocre at third base..."

That's what's great about going to minor league games.  For very little money you can get a seat really close to the action!

Hitched up the dogs to the sled......
...and was able to get to the mailbox and find my slightly water damaged, but otherwise in fine shape, book!

Thanks!
