Baseball School Projects: Semi OT

The previous journal kind of inspired this thread for me.  What is your favorite school project you ever did that involved baseball?  It could be in history, English, chemistry, what have you.  Personally, mine was a persuasive argument speech I had to give in AP US History in my senior year of high school.  Everyone used historically epic topics like abortion and whatnot.  I, logically, as a baseball fan argued both for and against the designated hitter.

Got a chuckle out of my teacher. Hahah, I just remembered. Not only did I get a chuckle out of my teacher, he also ended up mentioning it in my recommendation letter to college as a "positive".

Shoeless Joe
I wrote a paper arguing for Jackson being in the HOF.  I think I got a B.  Say it ain't so.

I had to stay away from doing so
I did one in 6th grade, if I remember correctly, that went a good 10 minutes over the limit, for which I was docked a few letter grades. I realized I was far too long-winded on the subject and stayed away from it as much as possible from then on, at least as far as projects are concerned.

That's an awesome idea you had though. If you're getting up in front of a class, doing something that will entertain is always a great idea. I remember writing a paper for a project in english, knowing that it would be read to the entire class, with the intent of being humorous. My teacher was just about rolling on the floor laughing but I failed to get one chuckle from the rest of the class.

Adult humor
You were just far too advanced for their childish sensibilities.  :)
