Who won 85?
It isn’t showing, but Tabata, I presume?
Tester
David Huff
I will test him every time until he at least gets testy!
Matt Moore
Left Handed pitcher, sits 92-94, touches 96, shows the making of plus change and curve, 4.5 to 1 K/BB ratio, struck out 35% of the batters he faced (about 13 Ks per 9), allowed less than 6 hits per 9 innings.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
he should get on
Donald, then Jones, Skippy, Moore, mAzzaro, Soto…
What's the likelihood
that he will be better than Poreda in 2 years or James Simmons?
TheSouthWing.com - A Magazine of essays, prose and poems
I think pretty good
And his overall upside is much higher than either. But that’s just opinion.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
higher upside in your opinion brick?
Barnese or Moore?
I’m guessing Moore from your post, but I thought Barnese was generally more well-rounded of a prospect
Moore
Barnese has great movement on his fastball, from everything I’ve heard, but Moore has more pitches that are close to being plus, throws harder, and is a lefty. The con is that Barnese was a level higher at the same age, has better control and is a bit more projectable. Both have incredible track records so far, albeit at very low levels. The stats and Princeton impress me a bit more though, simply because Princeton is a tough place to pitch, and it seems like every year there’s some pitcher who dominates HV because it’s a very pitching-friendly environment (and because the Rays have had a lot of good pitching prospects roll through there).
Vogt early, Vogt often.
+1
voted for him
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Skipworth's absence from the list is kind of embarrassing at this point

Well I voted for him, so I feel good about doing my part.

Blame the 1B obsession
We have at least a dozen future first basemen on the list already, and another four up for consideration, and that’s not counting all the Gamel/Wallace/Carter/Ramirez guys as 1B. Outside of 1B, there seems to be a fixation on polished, not-very-high-ceiling catchers, and powerless centerfielders. Maybe I’m just the only person here who doesn’t play fantasy baseball.
So yeah, when a catcher or a shortstop or an athletic corner outfielder is missing, it’s because there’s no room at the inn for guys who play defense.

now that is a solid post.
rec’d.
this post is subject to revision based upon whatever colin says the HBT annual has to say on the topic discussed.
Went Daryl Jones
Seems to be a solid OF with a good bat. Also considered going with Donald, Burgess, or Lambo.

Poreda...
pretty high ceiling with a pretty high floor too. He could be a very good number 2 or he could be a good closer.
unbelievable!
first we had to dodge the noonan nonsense and now friggin nick adenhart has 8% of the vote.
please, i wouldn’t take 3 nick adenharts for 1 adam miller.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

this is akin to voting for cloris leachman on dancing with the stars.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOO
I have visions of Larry Walker in my head.
The Dodgers won't win a playoff series until the Cool-a-Coo returns.
love me some lambo!
and to think a pitcher that gets rocked consistently has twice as many votes.

Larry Walker?
I don’t see the comp at all. I like Lambo, but come on.
Okay...
I might be a bit optimistic, but they’re practically the same size, have a cannon in RF and have that sweet lefty-swing.
The Dodgers won't win a playoff series until the Cool-a-Coo returns.
Yeah, but...
Larry Walker was a phenomenal athlete, which Lambo is not. Also, if it hadn’t been for injuries, Walker would be an easy hall of fame choice. You can’t really project any prospect, let alone one outside the top one or two, to be that great.
Scott Elbert
should be added to the poll next time around. He’s headed to the Dodger’s bullpen for now, but expect Elbert – and his exceptional stuff – to eventually find himself back in the rotation.
curious
is this prediction substantiated or just gut feeling? everything i’ve heard runs contrary to that statement.

He's ready for the majors as a reliever now....
If he can prove he can stay healthy, the Dodgers will Joba him.
- Let it be known that I coined the verb “Joba” -
Let it be known that I
despise the verb “Joba”
Unless… Do you mean Scott Elbert is going to put on weight, get hurt and get into a fight with a Giants fan in a strip club in Nebraska?
I just was looking through the list, and...
Carlos Carrasco at 66! What does this community have against Carrasco? I know, belated but, I am just curious as to someone’s reasoning for that ranking.
lol Noonan
I love the vote stuffing, he went from 16 votes to 41 overnight.
Not necessarily stuffing
It’s pretty obvious that the A’s fans tend to come on here later than most of the other fans.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
after a night of cruising the castro
sorry, couldn’t resist.
Poor Padres
Doesn’t look like they’ll get anyone on the list. I do think Hunter is their best prospect at the moment, sadly…
I do, however, think a tester for Kellen Kulbacki would be appropriate at this point. College home run champ, OPS over 1.000 in high-A….
Vogt early, Vogt often.
