According to MetsBlog.com and Primera Hora, the Mets signed 17-year-old RHP Carlos Avellones.
Supposedly there was actually some kind of press for the signing, so I'm assuming that this is important. Considering there isn't anything online in English about Avellones, I have no idea if this is a big deal or not and you probably don't either.
