phillies fans have no class

they boo santa claus, then throw snowballs at him when he walks onto the field during an eagles game...then bud selig, the commissioner of baseball, speaks and they boo him. to top it all off, they even boo charlie manuel, the phils manager, when he praises the rays for their great season. are these the worst fans in all of sports? i've been to philly before to watch baseball and i've met some great fans. but their sportsmanship is overshadowed by the majority of phils fans out there who continually show that they have NO class.

i'm not sure what it is about these people that makes them act like such asses at sporting events. if i lived in philly, i'd be embarrassed by all of it.

I'd boo Selig as well

For ruining the game in October with the dumbass networks starting at almost 9.

i actually don't have a problem with...

booing selig. but how in the hell do you boo manuel the second he mentions the rays’ great season?

Philly memory

I remember my first time ever going to a game in Philly. It was during the Doug Glanville era, and the Giants were absolutely killing the Phils. The only remember the fans not booing twice. First time was when the pitcher intentionally threw the ball at Barry Bonds and Bonds charged the mound, and they were all ejected.

Then as I walked out, I heard more cheering. I figured they were making a comeback, as it was only the 7th (dont hate me for leaving early). I turned on Sportscenter that night just to Glanville getting ejected for fighting.

Have to love thos Philly fans…classy is the first word that comes to my mind…lol

Philly Fans

The first thing I think about when talking Philly sports is that jackass wearing an Eagles Ricky Williams jersey in 1999 booing the pick of Donovan McNabb. I think that alone should put Philly fans in the penalty box for 10 years minimum. Every Eagles fan was wrong there.

Phillies Fans

I lived in Philadelphia for 10 years. They love their Eagles with a passion. But, seriously, you guys are the worst, bandwagon baseball fans in the country. I knew maybe 5 real Phillies fans and had really great conversations with them. Good, respectable baseball fans who I congratulate.

The rest of you, you know who you are. Go back to rooting for football. Can’t wait until the Phillies hit another rough patch and the stadium is half empty again.

i know 1 really really good phillies fan, as knowledgable as anyone i know if not more so.

never met another. yet when playoff time rolls around this and last year you’d think every kid on campus was a season ticket holder.

almost a decade

i posted on the ESPN baseball boards…and there were 2 in that entire time who were true fans, not kneejerk ranters that moved to the eagles board in june, then the sixers board in october, then the flyers board in january, then back to the phils board in march, rotating every time they got fed up with the team…..and both of those guys, oddly enough, lived outside of the philly area….one in atlanta, the other in eastern texas….perhaps it was the distance and the perspective that made them better knowledgable fans on the entire game, not just their squad, but they were both delights to chat with….now ranters and ravers have overtaken virtually every major sports site’s discussion boards….i feel like dressing up in a santa suit with my CAC (conceal and carry, for those wondering) permit in hand and going into a few philly watering holes :p

Wachovia center was hell

when I was there for a Habs game, and the Habs sucked that year too. It’s not like if it were this year.

GO HABS!

I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

Bud Selig is an ass clown piece of shit he totally deserves to be booed. But I do agree they’re kind of dick fans. They’re the type that boo their own players when they do bad, like Jimmy Rollins.

too lazy to read everyone's responses

but every commish in every league is booed every time they talk in front of crowds

as a Mets fan

I better just shut up for now…

Congrats to Philadelphia fans. Where’s your super bowl win. Doh!

congrats to the Phillies

and their fans.

But, seriously, do you realize how immature your language is? Yes, I am speaking to you, variablesdont. Sure you have your championship, gloat you’ve won. But, all the 4 letter words speak loud and clear…

how about growing up a little bit, dude?

if you are drunk, then how about refraining from blogging? we would rather not read your drunken ramblings. is your life that lame that you have to drink alone?

now that this playoff run is done

does that mean variablesdont will finally shut up?

obviously i’m not happy about the results as a mets fan but completely aside from that, i’m seriously sick of all these stupid pictures and 2-3 asinine posts a day where hes the only one who responds (at least 25 times)

and as far as the chest pounding, 12 yr old, we won you didn’t mentality, well congratulations, you got your 2nd championship. congratulations, you finally caught up to the mets and the marlins both of whom have been around not even 1/4 as long. congratulations, your trash dump of a city embarassed itself again with brawls in the streets and 76 arrests related to the “celebration”. congratulations for everything that any other city would be horribly embarassed about. congrats for all that now STFU already.

i get...

this image of variablesdont….a 44 y/o guy in the basement of his mom’s house…writing as a “college aged guy” to try to relive his youth….his hair nicely styled in a greasy mullet….stuck in that basement ranting about baseball and talking trash for the last 25 years, and now he finally can hit the bar scene and party with other fans because they won it all finally…..and he has a ton of left over pent up testosterone after seeing all kinds of “pretty” girls (pretty for philthy fans, but c’mon now, we know….) at the bars that still would have nothing to do with him, so he comes on this board and spews useless rants and trash talk that mean about as much as me betting on which sharp rock in the parking lot will pop a tire first…..likely won’t ever happen, but if it does, i look like a genius!

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

I seem to remember variablesdont was a massive opponent of the Blanton trade. Hated it in fact. Wonder if he has changed his mind.
