I'm pretty sure Cashman hatesTorre
Today, the Yankees signed Morgan Ensberg to a minor league deal. Joe Torre didn't want the Yankees to get him at the deadline last year, so they didn't get him.
They traded Scott Proctor, Torre's number one guy out of the pen.
The create the "Joba rules" so he doesn't overuse him immediately.
The Yankees re-signed Ron Villone last year. I'm pretty sure this is all Torre because he was a Type B free agent, so he cost them a high draft pick.
Opinions/Thoughts?

Wouldn't it be the opposite?

+1
Anyway, Ensberg is really insignificant. Unless they are trading Shelly Duncan or Wilson Betemit before Opening Day, or if there is something wrong injury wise with someone like Giambi, I doubt he makes the roster

i agree
Cash got rid of Torre's 'guys', e.g. Cairo, Proctor. Cash also didn't like Torre publicizing the Joba Rules (which was supposed to remain a secret). he also didn't like Torre's love for his Circle of Trust guys, like the aforementioned Cairo and Proctor, Myers, Viz, and he definitely would've killed Joba w/o the Rules - but he also excluded guys who weren't 'proven vets', e.g. Edwar (who rode the bench for 2 weeks after his 2nd outing), Britton (3.39 ML era)...
it became a mutual dislike between Cash and Torre the last few years.
