Tyler Robertson vs Deolis Guerra
Tyler Robertson is a year older but how do they compare? Both are tall guys 6'5"+ with physical projectability. Each has a potential ++ pitch other than the fastball (TR: slider, DG: change). Who gets to the majors sooner, who burns out, who has the best career? From what I've read about both, they both have #1 projectibility, does Robertson's delivery hurt his potential as a starter? I'd love to hear who is the Twins #1 prospect now, I saw it's Guerra now!

Personally
I still like Swarzak better than Guerra, too, actually.

anything includes
show you something?
in fact they had comparable success in A ball except guerra was a full 2yrs younger and in his first pro season compared to robertson's 2nd, so in my estimataion guerra has actually shown MORE than robertson at this point

"Comparable success?"
Robertson: 102 IP, 123 K, 33 BB, 87 H
Guerra: 81 IP, 64 K, 37 BB, 59 H
ARL is nice, but its not everything. You actually have to perform before I start believing in you. Even if he was 17 those lines are vastly different from each other. One is impressive by any measure. The other one gives you some hope when viewed with regards to ARL.
Robertson has had sick numbers throughout the minors. Guerra is relatively unimpressive. I gotta say I think youre way off on this one. Their performance so far as professionals is not comparable at all. if you want to say Guerra projects to be something better that's a different argument, but just looking at their resumes so far its heavily weighted to Robertson.

December of 87 and April of 89.
I take it back - Im VERY impressed with Guerra then. That's amazing. He must be some kind of wizard.
It's gonna be fun...
Imagine a possible Twins rotation in 2011 of Liriano/Guerra/Robertson/Swarzak/Slowey.
Wowser.
you forget Baker

right, just saying...
And I like Baker a lot.
Will be interesting. I do think the Twins currently have more ML ready pitching depth than any team in baseball with all of Liriano/Baker/Bonser/Slowey/Perkins/Blackburn/Duensing/Mulvey/Humber all just about ready for the majors or ready.
I'd like to see them parlay some of that into another deal to get another impact guy on a developing team that needs to get even younger/more depth.
I wonder if they could parlay 1 into a guy like Nick Johnson for a DH bat (the Nats need to move a 1b clearly), and then parlay another 2 along with a guy like Kubel or Cuddyer for a stud like Cain or Gorzellany.
Would be interesting.

Skipped the buffet this offseason...
I didn't...
I expect good things from both him and Baker this year, to go along with flashes from Slowey, and overall close to excellence from Liriano. All that to go with what should be a dynamite pen. I think people are sleeping on the Twins' staff, even after losing Johan and Silva. I bet they hardly take a dip at all over last year, in fact, and last year they were the 4th best staff in the AL.
