OT: NFL Playoffs!
Today, the playofs finally begin. I don't say that just because I'm a Patriots fan, I say it because if the op four teams in the game haven't started playing yet, it's not really the playoffs, it's more like a 'play-in'. That may just be me though.
Anyone have any thoughts on today's games?
Personally, I'm going with the Pats, Colts, Packers and Giants. I think a combination of Tony Romo not being half as clutch as people want to believe he is, Dallas peaking in November and TO being not TO results in a Cowboys collapse.

and better yet do it at the hands of Bull City boy David Garrard

My Picks are
Packers over the SeaHawks for the simple fact that Seahawks have had a tought time running the ball and they have never been a good road team so, I am with packers here. 24-14
Giants over the Boys, I am worried with this pick here because alot of people are picking the Giants to win and me being from NY, the giants are not a good team when they are considered the front runner. But I pick the Giants becuase of course TO's health and also the Cowboys secondary in my opinion is very suspect and cane thrown upon and Eli (who I have confidence in) will do that well and look for Jacobs to have a big game.
31-24
AFC:
Patroits over the Jags, one reason is that against the patroits gotta put points up by TD's and not field goals. By doing that you need your quarterback to be very good, and I don't know if David Garrad can have that type of game. The thing with the patriots is that while their d is good it's not great and it's slow, so you definitely move the ball against them. Jags have the running game but the key is the quarterback. Nevertheless, too much brady, moss, and welker and etc here. 35-21.
Chargers over the colts. Yes I didn't, I really do think that the Chargers are gonna win this game. To be honest, this is more gut feel pick than anything else but, LT to me is gonna have a big game and I think the X-Facter Philip Rivers will play well. 31-28.
So there is my picks for the NFL playoffs.

Picks
Not very daring, all the home teams.
Cheering for-Seahawks (Packers are the worse 13-3 team ever, Favre is so overrated. Short passes + great receivers who break tackles and make great plays with the ball= good passing stats, undeserved credit), Cowboys, Jaguars and Colts.

Is there anything better
I used to really hate Brett Farve, but now for some reason I seem to be pulling for him.
I'll go Patriots, Colts, Packers, and Cowboys this weekend. But hopefully the Giants can take down the Cowboys and Romo.

that play
overall garrard played a fantastic game and if northcutt didn't have a couple of key drops, who knows? then again, the jags failed to stop new england the whole game. they refused to blitz and it cost them badly--brady just sat back there all day and picked them apart. you knew that if the jags didn't mix things up defensively, watson and faulk would burn them all day... and that's exactly what happened. i'm still mystified they didn't try blitzing at least a little bit more.

Agreed
With the Colts down (that was a shocker) should we just hand the trophy to the Pats?

If Gates, Rivers, LT are healthy there's a chance
I'll pick the Pats, but I wouldn't be totally surprised with an upset.

Chargers
The first is that I'm not convinced they will be healthy by then. Knee injuries suck.
The second, and more pressing, is that as talented as they are, they're a sloppy, undisciplined team. They got away with it today, but no way are they going to be able to win in NE playing sloppy football like that.

That Was The Plan
Unfortunately for the Jags, Brady is good enough to beat you that way too. They just have too many weapons on offense. That early fumble turned out to be key as well, Jags never got a chance to build any kind of cushion.
The only thing I think the Jags could have done differently that might have been able to turn the game for them, was to hold onto the ball a little longer. They ran an almost identical number of plays against the Pats, but they had almost 5 minutes less in time of possession. Maybe if they hold onto the ball a little longer the Patriots show their age on D in the 4th quarter?
I know one thing, the Jags are a pretty good team, with a little tweaking maybe they take the division from the Colts next year.

Well
Surpisingly, the Pats contained Jax's running game and were beaten up instead by David Garrard.
The Pats, on the other hand, ran ALL OVER the Jags, with Lawrence Maroney averaging close to 6 yards per carry.
Brady was close to Flawless. 3tds, 0 interceptions and 26/28 passing for 262 yards. The only punt was the last Offensive play.
