What The ..........

is happening in Baltimore tonight?

Texas has 26 runs and counting. Two men on and no outs. This is unreal.

The Tex trade
was so bad.  I think all of the players that traded could develop to be solid pros if not better

by adschofield on Aug 22, 2007 8:18 PM EDT up reply actions

damn
he had a shot at the garret in the ninth but struck out with 2 on.

by wily mo on Aug 22, 2007 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions

i guess
the really weird thing here is that ramon vazquez has almost the exact same line.  1 less run, that's it.  both 4 for 6 with 2 homers, 7 RBI, 1 walk, 1 K.    salty with 5 runs, vazquez 4.

Wow
The crazy thing is...they're not even playing in Arlington.  How many fans do you reckon are left at the game?

by ajohnst1 on Aug 22, 2007 8:24 PM EDT reply actions

Wow good luck Baltimore
Whoever is pitching for them in the 2nd game is going to have to pitch like Jason Marquis last year.

by Bravesin07 on Aug 22, 2007 8:41 PM EDT up reply actions

haha omg
that is freaking priceless. what a way for dave trembley to celebrate his hiring for 2008.

"hey cabrera, you're gonna have to take one for the team. we got a doubleheader today and can't spend the entire bullpen."

(96 pitches in 5 innings later)

"well, that didn't work. burres, you're gonna have to take one for the team."

(8 runs in 2/3 of an inning later)

"okay, burres, you're out. bell, you're gonna have to take one for the team."

(7 runs in 1 1/3 of an inning later)

"god dammit, bell! all right, shuey, you're gonna have to take one for the team."

(9 runs in 2 innings later)

"all right, fuck you all."

Amazing
My wife just told me it was 30-3 I didnt believe her told her it had to be a football score!

by goalieguy on Aug 22, 2007 8:54 PM EDT reply actions

Not in Baltimore
The Ravens haven't given up 30 points in a game in two years.  Yeesh.

And with their offense
Not one Baltimore team has scored 30 pts unless you give them credit for the Bullets!

Salty needs to play Catcher
not only is it a more valuable defensive position, but he absolutely crushes when he plays catcher.

As a catcher he is hitting .365 and had an OPS over .850 coming into the game(in over 100 abs).

As a 1B he is hitting .152 with an OPS just over .500(92 Abs).

I guess maybe he is more focused when catching.

He hits better when the wind blows SE.

limiting the damage
They should have brought in a position player.  He might have done better.

by whichthat on Aug 23, 2007 1:26 AM EDT reply actions

Markakis
mightve been fun to see on the mound...he used to hit 92 or so right?

by daveh33 on Aug 23, 2007 2:33 AM EDT up reply actions

Maybe this shouldn't be a surprise
That the Rangers set the record for most runs by one team in a doubleheader... before Game 2 started.  And how'd they do all the scoring in just four innings?

It was the franchise record that they broke before the second game.
