Minor League Thread 7/5!

Hello everyone,

I'll reply with the Indians Minor League Report later on; I'll just mention the Indians here.

Indians (MLB) - defeated by the Tigers 12-3; C.C. Sabathia had his worst start of the season, and probably lost his chance to start the AS Game this coming Tuesday, with this line:

L (12-3) - 4.0 IP, 10 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 3 HR; 3 G/6 F; 56 S/31 B (3.58 - he says he didn't have his best stuff, which was evidenced by the fact he couldn't get his fastball down and in enough to the right handers, as mentioned here.)

Verlander, outdueled Sabathia today, though there was some great defense on some hard-hit balls that helped him too:

W (10-3) - 7.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, 1 HR, 1 WP, 2 HB; 5 G/9 F; 76 S/34 B (3.14 - control was over 2/1 S/B, though he was a bit wild as he often is, hitting 2 batters, and throwing a wild pitch, his 9th I believe, which leads MLB.)

Martinez hit his 15th HR, a solo shot, off Verlander in the first to give the Indians a brief 1-0 lead, only to have that erased when Polanco hit his 3rd HR off Sabathia in the bottom of the 1st.

After Garko scored a run in the top of the 2nd on a wild pitch, making it 2-1 Indians, Sheffield hit a sac fly and Guillen (HR #13) hit an 0-2 pitch for a 3-run HR, making it 5-2 Tigers.  Sheffield (HR #20) hit a 2-run shot in the bottom of the 4th off of CC, which was CC's last inning.

Detroit now hosts Boston, while Cleveland heads off to Toronto to finish the unofficial first half of the season; the Indians hold a 1-game lead in the AL Central.

Indians' Overview will come later!

Take care and have a great day!
