Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

Garrett Olson called up

CBS Sportsline reports
CHICAGO -- The Baltimore Orioles purchased the contract of left-hander Garrett Olson from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Olson, who was 7-6 with a 3.46 ERA for Norfolk, was scheduled to start against Chicago in his major league debut.

To make room for Olson on the roster, the Orioles designated reliever Scott Williamson for assignment. Williamson was 1-0 with a 4.40 ERA in 16 appearances. He wasn't available in Tuesday night's loss to the White Sox because of a bruised foot.

So what does everyone think of him? Will he have any impact for the O's in the future or is he just another arm that will come and go? I hope he does well for the O's because I'm tired of seeing them do so poorly. And I'm not even a Baltimore fan.

He's Not a Top Prospect By Any Stretch
But I think he could be a very good middle of the rotation guy.  His fastball is good enough for a lefty, and by all accounts he has a good changeup.  Add those with his pitchability and he has a chance to be a serviceable sp for years.

he didn't do great tonight
5 BB in 4.1 innings with 2 K's.  He pitched better than Contreras though who could be had in a trade for a box of balls.

Olsen
he's a serviceble guy...nothing to get excited about.  In other words, he's no Joba.
