I wouldn't be shocked
- If Durham makes the playoffs, he'll stay there for the playoffs and won't get called up. Right now they're 2 games out.
- If Durham doesn't make the playoffs and he struggles in Durham, he won't get called up, and he'll be slated to return to AAA to start next year.
- If Durham doesn't make the playoffs and he does well, then I think it's 50/50. After getting rid of Wiggy, the only guys who can play 3B will be Iwamura and Harris, who's the regular 2B and will be backing up at short. Thus, I'd imagine that they might call up Longoria to rest up Iwamura (he's been worn down by the season) and to get a sneak peak as to whether he might be able to start in the majors next year. On the other hand, they could decide that Longoria's already played a long enough season; still, in college he played the full season, plus Team USA, so it's not as if he's not used to a long season.

up in September
TB has nothing left to play for this year but evaluate who will be manning their infield and outfield next year. They want to get e-gore's feet wet before he gets into training camp next year with the inside track on 3B.

disagree
i just don't see him being called up prematurely,
i think when he's given a shot it will be because they are more than confident he will hit enough to stay in the lineup.
he has done phenomenal this year,
and they seemed to hold him back because they wanted to keep him with reid.
theyre finally letting him loose,
but it wont be surprising at all to see him struggle a bit.
i don't know whats going on with the position rotation anymore, but if rocco were healthy and dukes werent crazy then BJ would be playing 2nd.
our infield can go from iffy to crowded in a matter of days, there isn't a huge hole we need to fill and aki does very well at third, i really think we're going to see evan force himself into the lineup before he's placed there openly.
