Lohse dealt to Phillies

"The Phillies, seeking to upgrade their rotation, have acquired Reds right-hander Kyle Lohse for Class AA left-hander Matt Maloney, according to a major-league source." - foxsports.com

This has been a rumored deal for well over a week now. Good to see a plethora of deals going down...

Maloney was a B- prospect according to John, and ranked 5th in their system before the season.

Lohse won't help them at all, wait until they boo him and his probably 6.00 ERA in that bandbox.

He's moving to an easier park to pitch in

and believe it or not, his ERA at Great American was pretty spectacular compared to his ERA on the road.

Lohse will be maddeningly inconsistent.

This is a typical deadline deal...some unspectacular-but-useful MLB player for a prospect who might become a cheaper unspectacular-but-useful MLB player.

oh how I miss the days I would watch him pitch, when I would have to double up on my meds even if he was cruising. "Boom goes the Dynamite" was my nickname for him and more often that not he lived up to it. Have Phun Phillies Phans.
