Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Abreu or Hu?

If you were the Royals and were looking to deal Dotel to the Dodgers, which one of these 2 infielders would you hold out for - Abreu or Hu?  Seems as though the Royals are looking more for Abreu.  Or is there another player that KC would look to in the Dodgers system?  Could the Royals squeeze another midlevel prospect out of the deal?

Hu
no doubt about it, IMO

Hu
They need a real SS, Pena Jr. is a utility player.  Abreu though can play 2nd, and they don't have anyone in the minor who can.

abreu
can be a solid shortstop too. the only reason he doesn't play SS on a regular basis is because he has been teaming up with Hu at the majority of minor league levels he's been at.

Neither
Hold out until Bavasi wets the bed and offers up Wlad.  You know it's bound to happen.

abreu
still not quite a believer in Hu. but both are terrific defensively and seem to be able to hit, too, certainly Abreu can and there's no arguing with Hu's numbers this year.

either would be a fine return for Dotel.

interesting players
Could the Royals squeeze another midlevel prospect out of the deal?

some mid level players in the Dodgers system that I find interesting:

INF Blake Dewitt (although he might be better then midlevel now)
C Lucas May
SS Ivan Dejesus Jr.
OF Xavier Paul
RHP Zach Hammes
LHP Wesley Wright
RHP Josh Wall
LHP Marlon Arias
INF Travis Denker
OF Anthony Raglani
OF Scott Van Slyke
1b Russ Mitchell

all those players have definite warts on them but more or less, they offer at least one above average tool or plus projection that interests me.
