Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Has anyone noticed this?

Maybe no one cares..but I find it pretty wild how these two guys seem to be having the exact same season. Any thoughts or do I just have too much time on my hands today?

Delmon Young  101 399 .293 117 25 0 9  53 19 45 6 77
Jeff Francoeur103 405.294 119 24 0 11 68 26 47 2  77

Are these similarities a one year thing or do you guys expect very different numbers in certain areas (stolen bases for Delmon?)in the future?

Thanks.

Because they are both free swingers with big power.  However, I think Delmon will be the better hitter going forward.  His OPS by the month:

April - .672
May - .707
June - .762
July - .873

Delmon has slowly progressed all season whereas Frenchy had a big start and cooled...

Bravesin07 is so damn reactionary. I bet when his mother took him to the Dr., his leg kicked before the Dr. hit his knee with the reflex hammer. --slurve

plus
delmon is only 21, almost two years younger than frenchy. i think we'll all be disappointed if this is as good as he gets, whereas frenchy is having a year pretty close to his career averages.

Francoeur
His plate discipline has really improved this year. He already has 3 more walks than all of last season.

unfortunately
Atl is my closest ML team, so I know more about the Braves than I ought to. Seems like his approach is changing some at the plate as well. More of a complete hitter, willing to go the other way and such

You have JS.. He is god.
