Trade Deadline Game

In a contest on NFLDC, contestants choose a team and decide to buy or sell. I have the A's and Cardinals. Being an Orioles fan, my ideas for what to do with these teams are amateurish and kind of stupid. I decided to sell with Oakland, for I feel theyre too far behind Los Angeles and Seattle to really contend this season. Also, I feel as if a lot of their minor league talent has decimated. I have put the following players on the trading block: Marcos Scutaro, Dan Johnson, Mike Piazza, Jason Kendall, and Joe Kennedy. As for St. Louis, I will buy. I am looking for some veteran relief as well as prospects.

Any ideas or criticism?

Thanks

Mess
Man, I didn't realize how big of a mess the A's have become, and yes, their farm system is one of the worst in baseball right now.  It has now been 5 years since Moneyball came out.  Grady Fuson doesn't seem quite so stupid now, does he?

I feel like this is said every year...
the A's still have a lot of talent in their system, just no big-name blue-chippers b/c their philosophy has switched. They're currently in a vacuum created by many years of drafting college guys followed by a sudden change to drafting high-potential HSers. It'll last another year or two.

Definately sell
They could probably contend this season but that teams a mess. They could use to ship off as many parts as they can and recoup a couple high level prospects.

Updates
For The A's I Sold Like Crazy

Kendall, Ron Flores, Dan Johnson, Lenny DiNardo, Mike Piazza, and Chris Snelling are all gone from the ML club. As for prospects I got rid of Nick Blasi, Trevor Cahill, Jason Fernandez, and Jeff Muessig. I got rid of Cahill and Fernandez only cause I had too.

Out of the prospects I got are Alan Horne, Brandon Hynick, Anthony Webster, Daniel Carte, Paul Janish, Johnny Whittleman, Marcos Vechionacci, KC Herren, Ryan Wehrle, PJ Pilittere, Darren O'Day, and Trevor Bell.

I also got Jeff Mathis to platoon with Kurt Suzuki at catcher.

I am negotiating deals with Cleveland and Atlanta that could get me Tony Sipp, Peter Moylan, and Kevin Gunderson.

ill keep you all updated as time progresses
